NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY

I, Dave Heineman, Governor of the State of Nebraska, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the 24th day of July, 2010, as NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY in Nebraska, and I do hereby urge all citizens to take due note of the observance.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand, and cause the Great Seal of the State of Nebraska to be affixed this Twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord Two Thousand Ten.

07/24/10 Durham Museum

On July 24th, we celebrated the Day of the Cowboy at The Durham Museum in Omaha, Nebraska with a camp fire with lots of stories, a shoot out, and of course, the best part, meet and greet!

Saturday, July 24 has been proclaimed the National Day of the American Cowboy by Governor Dave Heineman. To celebrate, The Durham has teamed up with Wild West Creations will host Wild, Wild West Day.
So buckaroos, be sure to mosey on down to the museum and meet famous cowboys such as Wyatt Earp, Sam McQuade and Curly Bill, portrayed by Wild West Creations. During your visit, you will also hear about famous train robbers and even watch a shoot-out on the museum parking deck! And while you are here be sure to check out Lives of Tradition, a series of photographs from Charles W. Guildner which focuses on the lives of people living and working in the heartland of rural America.
